QA Quality Assurance Inspector, Nottingham

We are recruiting for a QA Inspector on behalf of a leading Company who are at the forefront of the railroad revolution, with a blend of history and innovation that drives them each day.

The Company, part of a larger leading Company, have a number of facilities in the UK; where they undertake the manufacture of specialist parts for the rail industry, with around three quarters of their product going into the rail infrastructure in the UK. They take pride in the high standard of their product and the service that they deliver to their customers.

The Role:

Performing routine inspections and tests on work in progress including; components, sub-assemblies, final assemblies and purchased materials for specialist rail track sections.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Perform routine inspections and tests on work in progress including; components, sub-assemblies, final assemblies and purchased materials
  • Verifying products and materials against engineering drawings and standards
  • Calibration, identification and control of equipment to verify product conformance
  • Maintaining records of inspections and product status
  • Conducting supplier inspections
  • Operating our acceptance and rejection procedures
  • Issuing non-conformance reports and monitoring corrective actions
  • Facilitating client inspections
  • Assist in the compilation of data analysis in liaison with the Quality Manager
  • Develop and improve quality inspection procedures

The Ideal Candidate:

  • Time served in an engineering discipline essential, with City &Guilds 743 desirable
  • Knowledge of CNC/NC, CAD/CAM is desirable
  • Previous experience of product verification against standards and specifications.
  • Sound inspection ability including component measurement and evaluation against specifications, drawings and standards
  • Self-starter, able to work to time scales with minimum supervision
  • Knowledge of ISO standards
  • Internal audit 9001 QMS - Certificated by a recognised training body

Salary: £25,000 - £30,000 + Benefits
