Procurement Officer

Working alongside the procurement manager you will take on the responsibility to source new suppliers for both goods and services. This includes being proactive in challenging existing practices and replacing them with new if appropriate as well as providing detailed analysis reports on spend and usage. Many suppliers have to go through the tendering process so you will need experience in supplier evaluation, preparing tenders, drafting service and contract evaluation, negotiation and contract award.The role supports managers to resolve any supplier issues and to ensure service continuity.

This role will encompass end to end procurement activity, so you will need experience and a clear understanding of the complexities of the supplier market and its changes.

Successful candidate will need to show previous procurement experience and the ability to make clear decisions and establish strong working relationships with suppliers. Previous working knowledge of procurement from within a public sector environment would be beneficial and CIPS qualifications would be advantageous but not essential.
