Technical Manager

Technical Manager required for a successful Food Manufacturing company based in York. Salary is circa GBP35,000 - GBP45,000 plus pension.

Our client is the largest manufacturing company of its' kind in the UK. This business has a long standing relationship with its blue chip customer base and is growing rapidly. This is an exciting business with significant growth plans for the future and has been strengthening the senior team over recent years in order to provide a strong foundation to build further. With a centre of excellence and head office in West Yorkshire, this company also has a dedicated facility in York. In addition, the business also has facilities across further sites throughout the UK.

The Technical Manager will be responsible for managing technical risks and opportunities across the business, working with the General Managers and Site Quality Teams, managing change and driving a culture of quality across the sites. The business has a track record of developing people and is keen to recruit an individual with a strong experience and commitment to grow their role alongside the company. Key aspects of the role will include:-

- Serve as a Food Technical expert representative across sites, teams and customers
- Offer Technical and Quality support across the business driving change and improvement in practices, processes and results
- Promotes, co-ordinates and harvests technical and quality knowledge and behaviours within the organisation
- Defines, communicates and enforces quality standards
- Offer strategic development from a technical and quality perspective
- Ensures best utilisation of the systems and resources available in order to improve information, accuracy and trend improvements
- With a food bias and demonstrated experience of change management
- Strong food technical knowledge and delivery of BRC
- Sustained delivery of quality KPI's improving standards and reducing consumer complaints
- Has a strong 'presence' handling difficult situations directly using appropriate respect for the individual
- A strong leader of quality achieving excellence
- Champions change and can effectively manage the implementation of new ideas
- Reinforces team approach throughout and mentors technical teams
- Ahead of the game with regard to changes in compliance requirements and all food legislation and customer's technical requirements
- Supports the business strategy and continually strives to deliver operational excellence
