Job Purpose:
To support the business in using the latest Oracle BI technologies in converting data into actionable insight.
Objectives:
Work alongside the BI manager to create distinct and unambiguous access for colleagues across the business to a single version of the truth`.
Implement process of BI governance that delivers actionable reporting without stifling the identification of new business opportunities.
Work alongside BI manager to maintain clearly defined metrics and performance indicators across the organisation`s processes.
Context:
My client has embarked on a significant systems investment over the past year, upgrading to the latest Oracle technology throughout its back and middle office processes. Alongside this upgrade, they have developed a strong data governance function focused on enhancing the quality of data across the organisation. In order to harness the benefits of these tools, My client has recently upgraded its BI tool to Oracles very latest OBIEE 12c product, with data visualisation licenses. The role will support the development and adoption of this tool as the single version of the truth throughout the organisation.
Accountabilities:
Support the BI manager in making new data available for the business to analyse.
Support the business super-users in the development of approved reports and visualisations.
Support the BI manager in the setup of a formal BI governance process, ensuring consistency across reporting.
Work with and challenge the business on the purpose of reporting requests, ensuring publish reports deliver clear actionable insight.
Assisting the data governance team with reporting and presentation of data quality statistics.
Help to maintain and develop the business wide KPI hierarchy.
Support with the design of key trading reports, like the weekly trading pack and daily sales.
Manage and maintain BI publisher reports used for operational reporting in B&M and Finance functions.
Support in OBIA (finance BI tool) report writing and publishing.
Support the BI manager in the development of a BI competency centre
Act as a reporting subject matter expert for new systems implementations, like Oracle HCM and Oracle RightNow.
KPI`s:
Trade pack production before 9am each Monday
Report performance sub 2 minutes for high complexity reports
Remove all excel based OLEB reporting replacing with BI
Knowledge, Skills and Experience:
Experience of developing reporting and analysis solutions with a BI tool (preferably Oracle)
Competencies:
Commercially numerate
IT skills in key software packages
Analytical skills
Report writing skills
Permanent Position
Salary GBP30,000 - GBP40,000 PA depending on experience
