Multi-Skilled Field Service Engineer - UK & Ireland (Food Processing Equipment)

Our strength is extensive knowledge of and expertise in Meyn and their products, which enables us to provide excellent technical support and advice to our customers as a leading provider of spare parts, servicing, installations and machine overhauls. Our unequivocal goal is to keep plants running with minimal disruptions by providing quick and efficient service.

The Multi-Skilled Field Service Engineer Role:

Reporting to the General Manager, the main responsibilities of the role are:

+ Conduct mechanical service activities on food processing equipment
+ Create site specific maintenance plans
+ Conduct six-monthly on-site inspections of equipment and provide reports including photographs
+ Design, manufacture and testing of job specific tooling and equipment. Inspection and cleaning of service equipment
+ Load test lifting equipment and ensure LOLER certifications are up-to-date
+ Record keeping and documentation, including customer service documentation packs, inventory of service equipment and statutory records regarding Health & Safety
+ Seek business development opportunities
+ Maintain and develop internal and external relationships
+ Follow health, safety and environmental procedures, maintain a safe, clean and tidy work area

Multi-Skilled Field Service Engineer Required Skills/Competencies:

+ Experience of basic workshop skills, i.e welding, hand tools, spanners, grinders 
+ Some electrical engineering experience is desirable but not essential, preferably gained in the food industry
+ Minimum requirement of NVQ or equivalent in a related field
+ Up-to-date knowledge of Health & Safety regulations, in particular food hygiene
+ Forklift truck and IPAF licence is preferable but training will be given
+ Professional and customer focused
+ Communication, both oral and written
+ Effective time management, organisation and planning
+ Methodical with attention to detail
+ Problem solving 
+ Strong IT skill, including Microsoft Office Outlook and Excel

Working Hours: 40 hours a week with the opportunity for significant paid overtime, which will necessitate opting out of the Working Time Directive

Flexibility and willingness to work long hours off-site, often at short notice, will be required.
