Purchasing Manager
Gloucestershire
Salary: TBC
A leading industrial manufacturing company are looking is hire an experienced Purchasing Manager to join their established supply chain team.
Key responsibilities as a Purchasing Manager:
- Manage theexternal suppliers, with a focus on purchasing raw materials and consumables
- Ensurethe availability of assigned items to support the company's customer service, cost,and inventory turn objectives
- Establish, review and approve the selection of suppliers, including assessment of supplier capability, supplier development, and perform supplier audit
- Ensure accuracy in the recording stock
- Stringent material control is required to assure company targets are met (spend, usage, scrap, inventory levels)
- Meetings and involvement with the sales department to evaluate new and existing materials and their successful integration to then production end of the business, this will include current and future market trends
- Foster excellent working relations ship with associate departments (Sales, Customer Service and Production, Warehouse, Accounts)
- Occasional client visits at short notice
- Conduct annual performance evaluations and develop professional growth plans for direct reports
Purchasing Manager requirements:
The ideal candidate must come from the manufacturing industry as a Purchasing Manager. You will also have the following skills, qualifications and experience:
- Extensive Purchasing Manager experience
- Degree qualified or equivalent or CIPS qualified
- High competency level in use of Microsoft Office (Excel. PowerPoint, Word)
- Proven background controlling budget and reducing external spend
- Strong sense of ?business acumen' and analytical skills
- Experience in supplier relationship and contract management
- Ability to confidently present to and challenge business leadership
