Job Description
We currently have a vacancy for a Male Supervisor within our support team working with people with LD, Mental Health and Complex Needs. The Supervisor will work on shift and will be responsible for in-house audits and observations and on-shift supervision of staff. As Supervisor you will work on shift as part of a team on a fixed rota doing individual 24 hour shifts including sleep-ins with a gentleman living in Devizes. No member of the team will do consecutive shifts and no one will do more than 3 shifts per week. You will be paid £170.25 per 24 hour shift rising to £181.25 after an initial probationary period of 3 months, plus £8.55 per hour for additional hours allocated to you rising to £9.15 per hour. As well as the gentleman in Devizes you will have an opportunity to work with other service users, where you will also act as Supervisor.
The gentleman in Devizes has been diagnosed with mild learning disabilities and schizoaffective disorder, for which he takes medication. He has been known to exhibit a range of challenging behaviours when he becomes anxious, but there are protocols in place that have enabled him to better control his responses effectively. For the role of Supervisor relevant qualifications and experience of working with people with LD and mental health issues is essential. We will be supporting the gentleman to:
a) Live safely in his own home
b) Plan for a healthy diet, cook, shop, maintain his home, improve health and wellbeing
c) Pursue his personal hobbies (fishing, music and films)
d) Maintain relationships and develop new ones
e) Go out for long walks, go out into the community, go on buses, visit charity shops and engage in group physical activities, and attend some live music events

Key Responsibilities:
1.) Supporting the Service User in his own home and attending local activities with him.
2.) In-house audits and observations and on-shift supervision of staff
3.) Maintaining up to date records of visits.
4.) Attending supervisions with Care Managers to discuss Care Plans and Service User progress.
5.) Complete all necessary training and attend any extra (Service User specific) training that the Care Manager deems necessary.
6.) Stay up to date with Policies and Procedures.
7.) Attend team meetings
Essential Requirements:
1.) Qualifications and experience of working with people with LD/ASD/mental health and challenging behaviours
2.) Positive can-do attitude with a proven track record of putting energy and enthusiasm into previously assigned tasks.
3.) Have a diverse range of relevant skills, knowledge and experience of working with people with complex needs.
4.) Good listening, time management and communications skills.
5.) Have good written skills and basic IT.
6.) Desire to make a difference in the lives of people with LD, Mental Health issues and complex needs.
