IT Technician

£20,255 to £22,034 per annum, pro rata

22.5 hours per week

Fircroft is a residential college occupying a former Cadbury family home, set in six acres of beautiful grounds in Selly Oak, Birmingham. We were originally founded to provide educational opportunities for some of the most disadvantaged and excluded members of society.

One hundred years on from the birth of Fircroft College, its mission of 'social justice' is more relevant than ever. Fircroft is a thriving College with a vast and diverse community of learners.

Over the coming year, we are embarking on an exciting phase of improvement and development. We are seeking to appoint, for the first time, an IT Technician to assist in developing College IT strategy and monitor actions, provide technical support or training for systems and networks including troubleshooting. You will also help with proactively improving IT use across the College including staff training and identification of improvements. You will be responsible for contributing to the management of the IT budget and will regularly liaise with and monitor performance of our external IT support company including monitoring of system and network performance.

To be considered for this role you must have demonstrable experience as an IT Technician involving troubleshooting, repairs, and installation of hardware and software and network management. You will also hold or be studying for a modern IT technical degree and have a solid knowledge of IT systems and applications.

The right person will be someone who enjoys working at a fast pace with a variety of different tasks, who is self-managed with a strong work ethic, who has a positive outlook and a 'can do' attitude and is a completer / finisher.
