Are you an experienced English Teacher with a passion for helping the more challenging students? Do you have a patience and tenacity to work with students with challenging behaviour? If so then we would like to hear from you regarding an exciting opportunity at a Special School in the Southend area.
Our clients are looking for a qualified teacher of English, ideally with previous EBD experience, although this is not essential providing you have the right attitude and desire. You should have experience of working with challenging behaviour and have the interpersonal skills needed to effectively communicate with staff and students. The position will be to teach English GCSE to Key Stage 3 and 4 students.
This is a great opportunity to:
- Gain experience working with small groups and on a 1:1 basis
- Work in a dedicated special school
- Make a real difference to students lives, hence enhance your job satisfaction
We are looking for somebody to start after the February half term, iinitially on a temporary basis with the potential of leading to a permanent position for the right candidate..
Our clients are a Special Needs School based in the Southend area. This newly formed college is a community formed from their different provisions for children and young people with behavioural, social and emotional difficulties. Their provisions include a BESD school for 11-16 year olds, an all age Pupil Referral Unit, two Nurture Bases and other school based nurture provision, a Virtual School for vulnerable young people and Behaviour support.
The pupils have significant emotional blocks to learning and are in need or support to enable them to overcome their emotional barriers. The centre allows children an opportunity to rework their early unmet needs and slowly change children's "damaged" expectations and capacities.
You would be joining an exciting educational service that is committed to high expectations of pupils in terms of learning and behaviour. We would welcome applications from experienced teachers who may like a change of direction and who feel that they can meet not only the learning needs of the pupils but also their social emotional and behavioural needs.
Please send your CV to Greg Burns, who is our dedicated SEN Consultant and will be happy to guide you through each step of the process from your application, right up to starting with the School.
