Title: Transport Strategy Manager
Salary: £47,329 - £53,272 per annum + excellent benefits
Hours: 36.5 hours per week
Location: Birmingham

To develop Transport for West Midlands (TfWM) political, economic, environmental, social and technological strategy base in an evidenced way so as to provide priorities and direction for delivery planning, programme development and service delivery. The post holder will manage activity that will effectively increase the profile and function of TfWM on a national stage, ensuring clearly articulated, relevant and timely thought leadership to stakeholders and advice to the TfWM Senior Management team.

The post holder will lead and develop TfWM's understanding of international best practice and develop strategies to translate these into the West Midlands. You will ensuring economic and sustainability concerns are reflected and promoted within local, sub-regional, regional and national transport strategy impacting TfWM and constituent partners.

The successful candidate will manage the work of the Strategy team, taking responsibility and initiative for driving forward the team's work as well as deputising for the Head of Policy and Strategy and Managing Director of TfWM as appropriate.

Key to the success of the post holder will be the ability to play a lead role in developing and managing the work of the Policy and Strategy directorate in order to meet the objectives of the company and member authorities.
