Accountant - Maternity Cover Contract
Based in Knutsford, Cheshire
Salary: £25,000 - £30,000 dependent on experience

An independent accountancy practice based in Knutsford, Cheshire, is currently looking to recruit an accountancy professional on a 12 month maternity cover contract. You would play an important role as part of a small team responsible for providing a full spectrum of accounting and financial advice to businesses of various sizes, from sole traders, partnerships, and limited companies.

The Role
Reporting to and working closely alongside the owner of the practice, you would be responsible for planning, controlling and reviewing accounts preparation work on behalf of a mixed portfolio of clients, ensuring all clients receive a top quality service in all respects. Work will include personal and corporate tax computations, preparing tax returns, processing payrolls, plus preparing management accounts.

The Candidate
The ideal candidate for the role will come from a solid accountancy background. Practice experience is preferred as the ability to deal with a number of different clients and assignments simultaneously will be required. ACA / ACCA qualification would be preferred however consideration will be given to candidates who are qualified by experience. Recent payroll/VAT experience and advanced Excel skills are essential, while knowledge of Sage Payroll, Xero and Digita would also be an advantage.
