Our Client a leading public services provider is seeking a Estates Officer to join the tenancy and leasehold services team. We are looking for individuals to manage and contribute significantly to projects of a wide remit, working with the Comprehensive knowledge of the practical application of specific techniques relevant to service

THE ROLE

  • To assist in delivering high quality tenancy and estate management services. To contribute towards the resolution of enquiries from tenants and leaseholders, community groups and Tenant and Resident Associations in accordance with standard policies and procedures. To assist with local area initiatives to improve the overall estate environment.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • To assist in the management of properties including separately let garages, carrying out all related estate management functions in accordance with policies and procedures. To keep the Team Manager - Estate Management informed of issues related tenancy, estates, resident involvement and leasehold management within the post holder's own area.
  • To implement breach of tenancy and lease procedure by taking prompt action on breaches of the conditions of the tenancy or lease agreements, ensuring that remedial action is properly communicated to residents and recorded for future.
  • To inform residents and formally sign up tenancy agreements and first visits to tenants in their new homes. To provide resolutions to related problems, induct tenants in operations of the estate, introduce tenants to local resident groups and Final Page 2 of 6 make aware of Tenant and Resident Associations, ensuring rent and service charge responsibilities are clear and maintained.
  • To assist in ensuring that issues and enquiries raised by Tenant and Resident Associations located within the post holder's patch of responsibility, are resolved and escalated where necessary.

THE SUCCESSFUL ESTATES OFFICER

  • Experience of property/housing management or related customer service. S/T/I 2.
  • Knowledge of housing legislation and current practice including leasehold management. S/T/I 3.
  • Experience of working with the public effectively and constructively in a front line service. S/T/I 4.
  • Experience of working with resident groups. S/T/I 5.
  • Experience of using own initiative to suggest new ways of doings things and positively embraces change. S/T/I 6.
  • Experience of monitoring, achieving and exceeding individual targets. S/T/I 7.
  • Experience of contributing to service improvements that takes account of the needs of diverse stakeholder groups. S/T/I
