RF Engineer - Guildford/ Surrey - 40,000 - 50,000 per annum;
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a talented RF Engineer to join a fast-paced team with a market leading company at their site in Guildford. The successful candidate will undertake the production and test of RF Communications systems and associated test hardware, including but not limited to Transmitters, Receivers and Antennas.
Key Tasks
* Evaluation of mission requirements and top-level RF system design
* Budget and schedule responsibility for RF system production
* Component selection and circuit level design and simulation where required
* Management of RF modules through production and test
* RF module test and fault-find at bench level, environmental level (EMC and thermal vacuum testing) and spacecraft level
* Authoring of technical documents (including assembly and test procedures, reports and technical descriptions)
* Interaction with customers and presentations at milestone reviews
Key Skills/ Competencies
* Proven knowledge in RF/Microwave electronics discipline is required, knowledge of the space industry would be very advantageous (not essential)
* Hands-on design and fault finding during test is essential
* Knowledge of design/test up to 30GHz would be an advantage
* Knowledge in the following areas would also be highly advantageous; Transmitter and Receiver design, Antenna design, Software Radio design, EMC, VHDL
* Excellent understanding of RF communications systems
* Excellent inter-personal skills - both written and oral communications; ability to interface with customers and technical representatives
