As we are continually growing and coming closer to reaching our vision, we have a position available for a Support Technician to join us in our Allington EfW facility, Kent.
Your role as the Support Technician:
You will be responsible for the monitoring, testing, fault diagnosis and rectification of any plant and equipment and supervision of the loading and unloading of ash & bulk consumable lorries. Your role will also involve assistance with shutting down activities in the plant, ensuring downtime is minimised and ensuring adherence to environmental compliance.
Your day to day duties will be:
* Ensuring that FCC and all personnel on site comply with their legal obligations for Health, Safety and the Environment & IPCC Permits
* Working well and supportively with your team, promoting strong team ethics and demonstrating high values
* Assisting with plant equipment isolations
* Attaining the level of a nominated competent person which will involve accepting and clearing safety documents as directed by SAP
* Carrying out routine plant tasks
* Monitoring bulk consumable stock levels and supervise bulk deliveries and loading
* Directing and communicating with people on outside plant
* Ensuring that all defect reporting within the MMS is effective and followed through to completion promptly
What skills and experience does our Support Technician need?
* A strong understanding of HSE legislation relevant to EFW plants to include the IPCC Permit (training will be provided)
* An awareness of safe systems of work i.e. plant isolations and safety documents. Training will be provided within the FCC safety rules.
* The ability to operate overhead cranes and forklift trucks and other plant would be advantageous (training will be provided if required)
* Excellent communication skills at all levels both verbally and written
* Strong organisation and problem solving skills
* Have a willingness to operate flexibly over a wide range of work areas
* Computer literate in MS Word, Excel and e-mail
* Experience of report writing
* A logical thinker with maintenance skills would be advantageous
