Our client supplies sieving machinery to the food, pharmaceutical and chemical industries, they are also heavily involved in the exciting 3D printing and additive manufacture arenas. They are currently recruiting for a Design Engineer to add further support to their team. The role will involve developing and maintaining the company's machine designs, duties will include 3D detailing, preparation of manufacturing drawings, creating bills of material for projects. You will be working in the engineering team at their offices in Basingstoke where you will see projects through from start to finish. You will need to be flexible in your approach, with an eye for detail, understand the importance for standardised procedures and have a desire to identify and implement improvements.
Responsibilities:
Providing engineering input into new and current machine designs
Working with the team to standardise the machinery ranges and drawing packages
Investigating and resolving queries, from suppliers and customers
Visiting customer sites
Manage a daily task routine to agreed times
General duties and ad-hoc work as required
Candidate Requirements:
Knowledge of the Process and/or Engineering industry
Knowledge of sheet metal and manufacturing techniques
Excellent PC skills including Microsoft Office & Solidworks (or similar)
Engineering qualification
This is a demanding role where applicants must be organised and accurate in their work, whilst able to meet tight deadlines. You will need to rapidly integrate with the existing team and immediate high levels of performance will be required. A sound knowledge of Solidworks (or similar) and Microsoft Office is essential and experience in an engineering environment is advantageous.
