Principal Civil Engineer required in Huddersfield.
Job purpose:
My client has an exciting opportunity for an experienced, enthusiastic and ambitious Engineer to join them at their Huddersfield office in a Team Leader Position. The successful candidate will head one of their teams of 2-4 engineers working on the design and procurement of highway and infrastructure projects.
- The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and reviewing the preparation of designs, drawings and reports for a variety of highway and infrastructure proposal as well as for residential developments.
- You will also undertake feasibility and pre-planning assessments of engineering infrastructure and be responsible for the management and mentoring of their team and review of technical outputs.
- The Principal Engineer will also conduct business development through client liaison, networking and preparation of bids and proposals.
Skills required:
- Excellent knowledge of infrastructure design at concept, feasibility and preliminary level
- Good knowledge of relevant policy and design standards (e.g. DMRB, Sewers for Adoption)
- Experience in the design and supervision of adopted drainage and highways
- Competent in the use of AutoCAD, PDS/3D Civils and WinDes Microdrainage
- Civil Engineering degree/HND educated in a relevant discipline
- Chartered or working towards chartered status with a recognized professional institution (e.g. ICE or IHE or CIHT) is desirable
