Based in Edinburgh, the Civil Engineer will support the Project Managers and Team Leaders by providing technical expertise in water and wastewater treatment engineering design to ensure successful delivery of projects.

Duties and Responsibilities

- Experience within the water industry with a focus on the design of water and wastewater treatment plants.
- Provide technical assistance to staff, including training within specific areas of responsibility and expertise as required.
- Maintain up to date technical knowledge of survey, design, drafting, project and contract management standards and techniques.
- Liaise with clients and ensure that programmes and projects are managed effectively to ensure delivery in a manner which meets quality, time and budget specifications.
- Provide support in the preparation of technical reports, cost estimates, contract documentation and contract management for a variety of water and wastewater projects.
- Assist with the preparation of expressions of interest and proposals as required.
- Undertake the design of water and wastewater facilities using appropriate software and applying relevant design standards.
- Using appropriate software to provide advice, solutions and successful project outcomes for clients.

Qualifications

- Degree qualified (or equivalent) in Civil Engineering or other relevant subject
- Professional qualified (Chartered Engineer or equivalent) and member of a relevant engineering institution i.e. ICE
- Experience in the design of water and wastewater treatment
- Computer literate with a good understanding of Microsoft Office
- Competent skill level in business development.
- Ability to integrate into a team and provide technical management over other members of the team
- Excellent communication skills as well as excellent organisational skills and able to multi-task
