Working Hours: 9.00 am to 5.30 / 1 Hr Lunch
1-hour lunch
37.5 hours per week
Flexibility on hours may be required.

Contract: Fixed Term / part-time or job share will be considered

Salary Band: GBP20,000 - GBP24,000 pro rata

Purpose of the Job

To contact and meet with Employers in the Birmingham area to progress Birmingham customers into employment from the DWP funded Think Positive programme, which supports customers with mild to moderate mental health difficulties. You will explain and sell TCHC services, including the no fee recruitment service, to help customers gain paid employment as well as work placements for our customers.

Main Tasks and Responsibilities
This role will entail all aspects of recruitment work, from cold calling employers who are recruiting, through to arranging customer interviews, follow-ups and feedback. There will also be an element of sourcing work placements, Traineeships and Apprenticeship opportunities.

Employer Activity

- Sourcing companies and engaging them to participate and offer paid employment, work placements; work experience or submit job vacancies for existing candidates.
- Liaise with TCHC project managers and their deliver staff to ensure all clients are being supported into sustainable progression opportunities.
- Work with the customer one to one and in groups to promote opportunities to them.
- Put forward customer`s CV`s and present these to recruiting employers.
- Encourage customers to actively job search by signposting them to appropriate job sites.
- Sourcing work placement opportunities and supporting their development into traineeships or Apprenticeships.
- Promote TCHC services to employers
- Deliver first class customer service to employers and customers.

Partnership Activity

- Gain local knowledge from internal colleagues and external partners as to new recruitment drives and companies coming into the area, which may generate opportunities for TCHC services.
- Build relationships with external agencies including employer, charity organisations; local authorities and strategic partnerships.
- Work with our partners and internal colleagues to share best recruitment practices for clients.

Personal Requirements

- Meet all KPI`s as set by the Line Manager.
- Meet all agreed deadlines for employers and our Programme managers
- Support TCHC in the development of bids for future services.
- Keep abreast of all future recruitment initiatives.
- Identify and respond to seasonal trends and be able to forecast recruitment drives.
- Keep abreast with local employment opportunities
- Any other duty which, from time to time, may reasonably be required to meet the needs of TCHC.

Note: These duties are a guide to the work the post holder will initially be required to undertake. Amendments may be made from time to time as the role evolves and to meet changing circumstances and these do not form part of the contract of employment.

Essential Skills & Attributes

Knowledge / Technical Skills

- Must be a car owner / driver and be prepared to travel where the business dictates
- Exceptional organisational and administrative skills with an absolute eye to quality and detail
- A seasoned sales professional with a background in Employer engagement
- Market awareness within the Training and Development sector
- Knowledge of different industry sectors
- Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint - intermediate competency required
- Experience of employer engagement and relationship / account management functions
- Experience of recruitment practices and services
- Strong negotiations and influencing skills
- Sales and telesales experience with a can do approach
- Experience of working in a target driven, fast paced environment
- A proven, successful track record of supporting clients in an empathetic, non-judgmental and ethical approach.
- Excellent communication skills - pleasant and professional manner - well-spoken - clear, intelligible; good standard of written communication - grammar and spelling.
- The ability to motivate and build a rapport with young people and adults.
- Discretion & Confidentiality - Good knowledge of Data Protection Act and ability to demonstrate and exercise discretion and confidentiality in terms of all data.
