My client based in Cheltenham have an exciting opportunity to be an integral part of their fast-paced dynamic company.
Our client is the leading developer in the mission and safety critical equipment and are now recruiting for an experienced Buyer to join their team on a permanent basis.
Responsibilities/Duties;
-To manage the day to day requirements and controls of the Purchasing Module on the ERP system
-To ensure the timely procurement of the best value details for Production and Engineering requirements
-Expedite Purchase Orders and manage defined suppliers as necessary
-Carry out site visits to suppliers as necessary
-To manage on time delivery from the supply base
-Become involved in the implementation of lean manufacturing principles within the purchasing department and help to promote them to the supplier base
-To encourage communication between the supplier and engineering to effect cost reduction of mature and new products
-Identify or initiate any cost reduction opportunities
-To attend production meetings and report on delivery progress and highlight problem areas
-Support Supply Chain Team Leader with management responsibilities
Candidate Attributes;
-Previous buying experience is essential
-Good communication skills
-CIPS qualified or working towards
-Strong technical capability
-Experience of using ERP system
-Advanced in Microsoft office
-Experienced at working within a cross functional team
Hours- Monday - Thursday - 8am - 4.45pm Friday- 8am-12pm
