PARISH CLERK / RESPONSIBLE FINANCIAL OFFICER
Pembury Parish Council is looking to appoint a Parish Clerk/Responsible Financial Officer to take over from the current Clerk, who retires on 31st March 2017.
This post will involve the management of office staff and the Parish Council Grounds Staff (currently 3) along with all duties and responsibilities normally associated with the roles.
The position is for 32 hours per week, which will include evening meetings as required and will be paid according to experience and professional qualifications. For a fully qualified CILCA Parish Clerk or suitable qualification the pay scale would be Point 35 on the NJC scale.
The successful applicant would ideally be suitably qualified in Local Council Administration or willing to work towards this qualification. The applicant should possess strong administrative, financial and communication skills both written and oral, along with minute taking skills - shorthand would be
an advantage.
The ability to liaise with external groups, in particular local government and
other partners would be required.
The applicant should also be fully conversant with Microsoft Office packages with at least intermediate level in Word and Excel.
The Council is looking to enhance its social media presence so
experience in social and digital media would be desirable.
