Station Works Sub Agent - Days

Purpose of the job:

Our client are looking for a Sub Agent to join their team working on a major Station Capacity Upgrade project. The station sub-agent is responsible for the day to day planning and coordination of the station works. This includes the day to day management and control of the station subcontractors (civils, MEP, implementation of I&M, surveys, enabling works). Supervision of the works with the support of the lead SPC in the station. The sub-agent is also responsible for the coordination and communication with the station supervisor.

Key responsibilities:

- Ensure and enable safe and efficient execution of the works.
- Will be expected to work the occassional Night Shift
- Manage shift and coordination between shifts.
- Manage interface with the station at each shift. Experience of QUENSH, the LU Rule Books and works in Section 12 stations is essential.
- Attend the daily station coordination meetings.
- Responsible for all activities on shift including control of the works following IFC design, compliance with the approved ITPs and production of records.
- Ensure and enable sufficient start of shift, method statements, and other safety briefings. Constantly monitor safety performance.
- Ensures access to the station for the works complies with our clients Station Access procedures
- Carry out compliance checks as indicated by activity plan.
- Manage resources and underground logistics.
- Manage all plant and equipment.
- Liaise with Station staff and relevant project staff.
- Ensure all certificates, assurance and compliance certificates are generated and collated.
- Ensure that CDM regulations are complied with and in particular the CDM Health and Safety file is compiled.
- Ensure compliance with requirements outlined in the companies environmental management plan.

Experience, Knowledge:

- Have a good working knowledge of English, both written and verbal, and be able to report at management level.
- A Sub-agent to Construction Manager with extensive experience in similar urban railway environments including LU and major capacity upgrades (TCR, Bond Street, VSCU) in supervision, coordination and management of an station package of works (including various subcontractors and trades)
- Comprehensive experience with a Civil Engineering Contractor on large infrastructure or tunnelling contracts.
- Experience of working on Live Stations is essential

A good working knowledge of the:

- Management and Administration of Safety and Health at Mines Regulations 1993
- Health & Safety at Work Act 1974
- Construction Health, Safety and Welfare Regulations 1996
- Construction Design and Management Regulations 2007
- Management of health & Safety at Work Regulations 1999 and
- ther relevant legislation
- Experience of QUENSH and rule book is essential particularly works in Section 12 Stations.

Qualifications & Professional Affiliations:

- Desirable: educated to degree or higher level or equivalent in a numerate discipline, typically an Engineering discipline. A lower educational level, typically HNC or HND may be acceptable where a very significant level of experience in a senior technical engineering role can be demonstrated.
- Desirable: membership of an appropriate Professional body, typically Chartered Member of Institute of Civil Engineering or hold an equivalent professional status.
- Have undertaken CITB Site Manager Safety Training Scheme (SMSTS).
- Have demonstrable experience of leadership, building and motivating teams.
