A fantastic and exciting opportunity for a GIS Graduate or an experienced GIS Software Support Engineer to work on intriguing government-related software projects.
Job title - GIS Software Support Engineer
Location - Cambridge
Duration - this role is initially offered on a 4 month contract basis
Salary - Max of GBP140 per day for Graduates & GBP250 a day for experienced GIS Software Support Engineer
Requirements -
- Degree educated in Geographical Information Systems or closely related subject
- Any experience in software support would be beneficial, but straight graduates with fantastic communication skills considered
- Ability to relay technical terminology to a non-technical audience
- Any experience in a customer or client facing role highly beneficial, especially if in a technical setting
- Always striving to offer the customer the best possible experience
- Personal situation will allow occasional travel (around 1 day a week to UK sites)
- You must be eligible to gain security clearance
Responsibilities -
- Initially you will gain in-depth knowledge of a range of software products and systems.
- Deploy and support high availability GIS systems
- Offer solutions to a range of technical issues both remotely and on-site
- Communicate with customers, offering regular updates on troubleshooting and fixes
- Monitor and report on performance with support issues
