Production Engineer

Production EngineerLocation: ChippenhamType: Contract (6-12 months)Rate: NegotiableMonday-Friday (Days or Late Shift)Key words: Production Engineering, Production Engineer, Manufacturing, Equipment, Bespoke Manufacture, Rail Industry What are my responsibilities???Creation of product part numbers and Bill of Materials for electrical products that are to be manufactured to a design drawing. Products include electrical cubicles, wired racks, relocatable equipment buildings and other wired housings??Creation of production routings for products to be manufactured to a design drawing??Working closely with the design engineers to ensure a full understanding of the customer requirements. Review the issued drawings and raise production logs to resolve queries and issues where necessary??Provide technical support to all production processes for the electrical wiring cell and react to quality issues with corrective action plans??Utilise and implement lean concepts to drive business excellence into the production process where necessary using data analysis and project management??Ensure compliance with corporate EH&S goals and compliance objectives, including the development of process risk assessments and COSHH management??Fully support and comply with all business ISO Quality and Environmental Systems What do I need to qualify for this job???Experience of working in a production engineering role (essential)??Sound understanding of electrical equipment manufacturing (essential)??Experience of manufacturing bespoke equipment ??Minimum HND qualification or equivalent in related engineering discipline ??Experience of using continuous improvement tools??Experience of using PLM and SAP system would be advantageous
