The Role
Reporting to the Manufacturing Engineering Manager, as Process/Manufacturing Engineer you will be responsible for:
- Review and measure current manufacturing processes, identify waste, opportunities for improvement and agree improvement targets
- Lead Process Improvement projects, with 5S, delivering significant cost, quality and performance benefits
- Lean Manufacturing and "best in class" tools and techniques
- Project manage Continuous Improvement projects
- Establish pilot programmes with Team Leaders
- new processes established and embedded
- Champion shop floor six sigma programs & initiatives
- Establish and implement six sigma standards throughout the manufacturing facilit, drive compliance/adherence to these standards
- mentoring on six sigma to Team Leaders
- Design shop floor layouts to support new product introduction and process re-engineering of existing products.
- Determine tooling requirements
- Train & coach of cross functional teams
- Create & maintain manufacturing shop floor documentation for new and existing products including work instructions, inspection checklists and other quality system documents
- Support vendor cost, quality and delivery performance in the supply of sub assembly products and services
- Support Team Leaders in the communication of performance issues
- New Product Introductions (NPI) & Engineering change
The Person
ESSENTIAL
- Degree/HND in Manufacturing/Production/Industrial engineering
- Advanced experience in Lean Manufacturing tools and techniques
- Track record of delivering positive (cost, quality and performance) results
- Problem solving methodologies
- Strong leadership and negotiation skills
- ISO 9000 Quality Management System
- Project Management
- Design processes (DFx) experience
- NPI and product lifecycle management
- ERP/MRP systems knowledge
- Customer facing
DESIRABLE
- six sigma
- Knowledge of production philosophies (kanban, SMED, etc)
- analogue electronics, X-ray detection, vacuum systems, cryogenics

We are currently looking for a driven Process/Manufacturing Engineer Leader for a Blue Chip manufacturer business based in the High Wycombe area, paying between GBP45,000- GBP50,000 based on experience.
