Who you’ll work for

The organisation is an ERP software supplier, hardware and infrastructure specialist. They work with a wide range of industries including builders’ and plumbers’ merchants, the building supply chain, manufacturers, suppliers and distributors. They are a Microsoft Gold Partner for Microsoft Dynamics NAV and a Premium Reseller of Intact Software and supply both solutions alongside their tried and tested hardware and infrastructure portfolio. Due to continued growth, they are now looking to employ a Technical Support Apprentice. The successful candidate will join their hardware department and assist in providing technical support to their client base in all aspects of their general IT System. This includes (but isn't limited to) Active Directory Support, Microsoft Office Support, Windows Server diagnostics, Hardware Diagnostics, Liaising with 3rd Party hardware vendors to co-ordinate on-site replacement parts. Additional to this, you will be taught how to provide 1st line support for our ERP systems to end users. Their ERP software utilises Microsoft SQL, so knowledge of SQL is an advantage.

As a Technical Support Apprentice, your job includes:

  • Support of the Microsoft Windows Environment
  • Call Logging in our Support Software
  • Escalation of calls to other members of the team
  • Provide 1st Line remote/telephone support for clients calling for assistance

What experience and skills do I need?

We’re looking for an IT-enthusiast with:

  • Basic understanding of Microsoft Office
  • Basic understanding of Microsoft Server
  • Good team working skills a distinct advantage
  • Essential - Experience of the use of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, Word and Outlook in a work environment at a basic level
  • Essential - A willingness to learn new skills and apply these accurately
  • Experience within a customer service environment is highly desirable

You’ll also need at least five GCSEs (or equivalent) at Grade C or above including Maths, English and either IT or Science.

**Please note - as this is a level 3 apprenticeship, we can't progress candidates forward if they hold any of the following qualifications: Undergraduate / Masters Degree, HND / HNC or Certificates of Higher Education.**

The training provider offers a unique Higher Level 3 IT Apprenticeship scheme. We provide the fastest award-winning industry training and certifications with on-going support - all with the ultimate goal of securing a long-term IT career.

During your one-year programme, the company provides residential training at our distraction-free training centre. Our accelerated training means you'll achieve training with partners like CompTIA, ITIL and Microsoft faster, giving you more time to put your new skills into practice within a professional working environment. When you complete your programme, you'll have enough industry-recognised qualifications for a great career in IT. You'll be registered by the British Computer Society (BCS) to the Register of IT Technicians, confirming SFIA level 3 professional competence.

By working hard and demonstrating your ability, drive and commitment throughout your 12-18 month apprenticeship scheme, upon completion you will be offered a permanent contract ensuring you have further opportunities to continue growing within this exciting organisation.

£200 per week
