Recovery Worker (Registered Care)

Right now, one of our partners, Richmond Fellowship, is looking for a recovery worker to join the team at Colindale. Foxlands House is a CQC registered care home for people with complex mental health problems aged over 18. We encourage and support people with mental health problems to re-learn or develop independent living skills, whilst supporting and challenging them to develop their own aspirations. Our aim is to move people on from our care homes into our self contained flats or into the community within a two year time frame. But, it’s only possible with the help of people like you.

Day-to-day, you’ll manage a caseload of residents and give them all the support they need to enable them to participate in community life. You’ll also work with individuals to develop an appropriate personal support plan that addresses their specific needs. Helping them to develop domestic, financial and emotional management and personal life skills to achieve greater independence and self-esteem will be important too. And, when it comes to liaising with statutory and voluntary agencies to give people access to a full range of services, again, we’ll rely on your expertise.

A great listener, with a flexible approach and a flair for planning and prioritising a busy workload, you love motivating and engaging people in a range of developmental and rehabilitative activities. What’s more, you have a good understanding of mental health issues and how they affect people. Experience of identifying and
co-ordinating a range of services to meet an individual’s needs and to enable them to engage with community activities is also essential.

 *Subsequent salary progression up to a maximum of (£16,480) will apply to this post, subject to the postholder meeting the eligibility and performance criteria.
