Agile Test Manager

Jobs like this involve initially setting up the agile testing competency within the organization and on an ongoing basis coaching and mentoring your software testers to improve their effectiveness. You'll remain at the leading edge of your profession helping to evolve and facilitate new testing policies, principles and standards across the software testing chapter.
Evolving test automation and shifting testing will be a key element of your role ensuring this transition takes place and that we have the capability within the business unit to improve agility speed of delivery.
The role will be critical in the successful coordination of change delivery across the practice, enabling Agile BAU code deployments to happen quickly alongside larger-scale initiatives, within a well disciplined and governed process which optimises business benefit realization. To do this, the Test Manager will interface directly into Release Management to mitigate deployment risks and encourage cross deliverable test synergies and define quality assurance best practices.
Responsibilities
* Ensuring agile teams have the right level of appropriately skilled resources to conduct effective testing
* Guiding the Business Analyst and Product Owner on test efforts required to close stories and secure story points/ velocity
* Presenting an aggregate view of testing utilisation to high level management
* Coordinating and managing testing dependencies across deliveries
* Being an escalation point for testers
* Budgeting or forecasting for testing as a service dependent on organisational process
* Be an advocate of testing throughout the organization
* Recruitment of test resources
* Building PL wide test strategy and deployment plans
* Providing technical expertise, e.g. proper use of test techniques in appropriate cases
* Ensuring the teams (Scrum Teams) implement and follow best practices to prevent defects
The Individual
* Have proven experience of management/leadership in a software testing environment required.
* Have extensive knowledge of IT systems and have a high degree of technical skill.
* Have a strong understanding of the Software Development Lifecycle
* Strong experience of managing personnel and test programmes, within an agile environment.
* Proven experience of evaluating and implementing best practice standards.
* Experience of presenting test strategy and approach to stakeholders throughout the business.
* Testing experience within Automation, Performance and Security in an agile environment.
* Good understanding of the following IT disciplines: Testing Software, Test Automation, Agile Frameworks - Scrum/XP/Kanban, Software development life cycle, Source Code Management and TDD/BDD, Continuous integration
