Fantastic opportunity not to be missed! The Royal College of Anaesthetists (RCoA) has an exciting opportunity for a Clinical Quality Projects Coordinator to join the team in Holborn. Joining us on a full time fixed term basis to cover maternity leave, you will receive a competitive salary of between £30,000 and £33,600.

Anaesthesia is the UK’s largest secondary care specialty. 16% of all hospital consultants are anaesthetists and over two-thirds of hospital in-patients will see an anaesthetist. The Royal College of Anaesthetists (RCoA) supports approximately 17,500 members and fellows and approximately 3,500 from the RCoA’s Faculties of Intensive Care Medicine and Pain Medicine.

The RCoA is committed to setting the highest standards for anaesthesia and patient care and we work closely with anaesthetists to improve the service they provide. This work is supported by high-quality research focusing on patients’ safety and outcomes.

As the Clinical Quality Projects Coordinator you will be primarily responsible for project managing the development of Guidelines for the Provision of Anaesthetic Services (GPAS) and ensuring it follows our National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) accredited chapter development process. This will require a high level of organisational skills, project management and planning and working to conflicting deadlines. Ideally you will have experience in producing or editing documents. Working alongside the Clinical Quality Team Leader, you will also have responsibility for the administration of patient safety projects. As committee secretary, formal minute taking experience is essential for the post holder. You will have exceptional written and verbal communication skills and be able to present complex information in a succinct manner to different audiences.

You will be a natural and methodical organiser and be able to use these skills not only to effectively manage your own workload and time, but to also offer first class support to the Head of Clinical Quality and Clinical Quality Team Leader.

The Clinical Quality Projects Coordinator will be joining a friendly team who deliver to the highest standards through their conscientious approach to work and therefore the successful candidate will also need to be a highly motivated, enthusiastic and flexible team player and willing to pick up routine and emerging tasks to support the wider work of the directorate.

The successful Clinical Quality Projects Coordinator will have common sense and confidence, as well as excellent judgment of people and situations developed through previous work with senior staff.

Experience of working in a healthcare environment is an advantage. This role involves some travel including overnight stays.
