We are currently working alongside a leading global Engineering organisation, as they search for an experienced and enthusiastic Construction Manager to join their expanding team in York. Our customer is a leading service provider in Project Management Construction Management (PMCM), delivering projects at all stages from initial studies, design through to construction and maintenance, across the UK and also internationally. Their projects span a number of sectors, including Rail, Highways, Water / Utilities, Energy and Aviation, all of which are of critical long-term importance to the general public, local and national economy and industry alike.

Our customer has an enviable reputation in the UK Consultancy sector as a result of a portfolio of high profile projects with clients that include the leading governmental organisations within the Rail and Highways sectors, National Contractors and Local Authorities and their plans is to add to this portfolio as their growth continues at pace.

This exciting and challenging new position within their organisation is for a hands-on Construction Manager who will ensure that projects are delivered to the highest standard.

We anticipate that the successful applicant for this position will be responsible for the following tasks and responsibilities:
*be the business' representative on client sites.
*attend client liaison meetings.
*build, manage and co-ordinate the project team.
*plan forthcoming resource requirements.
*ensure projects are completed on time and in accord with agreed programmes of work.
*ensure incurred installation labour costs are in line with estimated costs.
*ensure attendance and preliminary costs are in line with estimated costs.
*ensure all works on site are undertaken in accordance with safe working practices and current Health and Safety legislation, be constantly vigilant to any actual or potential hazards and encourage such vigilance among all site personnel.
*ensure the installations are carried out in accordance with the manufacturers recommendations and the contract drawings.
*formulate and implement site inspection practices.
*assist in the preparation of method statements, COSSH, Risk Assessments and Quality plans.

To prove successful in this challenging new position, we anticipate that the successful applicant will have the following skills, knowledge and experience:
*strong experience in Construction Management on large infrastructure projects.
*experience of being a sub-agent or agent.
*experience of major design / Engineering projects.
*ideally a Chartered Construction Manager.
*ideally HND / HNC qualification or above in Electrical / Mechanical / Civil Engineering / Construction Management or commensurate commercial experience.
