Detailed Job Description
The Operations Manager will have responsibility for all Supply Chain, Production and Logistics functions inclusive of Production and Quality Management, Production Planning, Production Engineering, Shipping, Health and Safety and Facilities. Key to this role is the ability to design and communicate clear improvement plans that will enable a multi skilled purchasing, production and logistics team to continually improve overall process. In addition, a key success driver is the ability of the Operation Manager to engage and lead individuals in building a culture of sustainable continuous improvement.
Further accountabilities include;
Plan and coordinate the end to end manufacturing process and enhance overall operational performance.
The development of the existing ERP system to improve operational effectiveness, reduce customer lead times and increase OTIF, achieving targets in excess of 90%.
To work with the Purchasing Manager to drive the strategy across this function ensuring optimal profit from each project undertaken.
Provision of direct leadership to teams across the Supply Chain, Production and Logistics functions. Ensuring the delivery of consistently high performance and a culture of continuous improvement.
Candidate's Profile
You will be able to demonstrate the following skills and expertise
Experience within a relevant Engineering, Supply Chain or Manufacturing Management discipline.
Demonstrable experience of managing in a CTO (Configure to order) end ETO (Engineer to Order) manufacturing environment.
Track record of implementing and delivering continuous improvement programmes.
Strong leadership and interpersonal skill with an ability to influence others at all levels
Good IT skills and experience of working with a business wide ERP system.
Excellent communication skills coupled with strong analytic and problem solving skills.
This business is keen to embrace change and move with market place and it will be the responsibility of the Operations Manage to manage this change whilst maintaining a great culture and changing mind sets.
What's on offer
GBP50,000 - GBP60,000 + pension + car allowance + bonus
