The Company:

The Role:
Main goals and objectives:
The Pre-Series Centre Manufacturing Feasibility Engineer is responsible for ensuring that Manufacturing Feasibility is evaluated in line with PEP010.
Manufacturing Feasibility issues to be presented and agreed cross functionally and the product style and design influenced to support Manufacturing functional deliverables.

Main Responsibilities:
1. Analysis of complex system assembly feasibility on future programmes for projects:
a) Review style and design to identify manufacturing feasibility concerns and support Manufacturing Functional deliverables
i.e. DFA best practice, assembly time targets, production quality targets
b) Analyse dimensional management outputs for complex systems and develop assembly strategies to ensure product quality targets are archived
c) Support Virtual Build reviews to validate process hard points and sequence
d) Support Design and Manufacturing Feasibility reviews
e) Support complex problem investigation and resolution
f) Manage KPI's to support status reporting at key project milestones

2. Support concern resolution through VDS process
a) Clearly define and document concerns/issues via VDS process

3. Support for Control Build activities
a) Validation of Complex system feasibility using reference properties.
b) Analysis of Complex systems on Controlled Build Vehicles.
c) Act as knowledge holder for part design, manufacture & assembly within complex system

4. Identification and development of best practice principles within industry and associated industries.
a) Benchmarking of design, manufacturing and assembly methods
b) Development of knowledge though technical literature and industry related research

Health & safety:
Responsibility for ensuring that local Health and Safety policies and procedures are followed in order to ensure own safety and the safety of others.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
Skills & Experience: Automotive industry experience within a Manufacturing or Engineering environment (similar experience within associated industries considered)

Practical & Technical Knowledge:
Strong working knowledge of component design, manufacture and assembly techniques
Strong working knowledge of design for assembly principles including lean manufacturing techniques
Logical and structured approach to problem identification and resolution
Appreciation of CATIA V5 and Virtual Build tools
Appreciation of measurement techniques
Appreciation of dimensional management analysis

Qualifications:
HNC / Degree qualification or equivalent in a Manufacturing, Engineering or Science related subject
German speaking would be preferable
Member of related professional institute would be preferable
