We are looking for an experienced Training and Development Manager to join our HR team. 

Based in Carlisle, and reporting directly to the HR Director, the successful candidate will be responsible for all aspects of T&D across our UK sites which include Carlisle, Burton on Trent, Didcot and London. 

Key responsibilities include:

  • Managing the training needs identification process
  • Co-ordination and roll-out of annual employee engagement survey across the UK sites
  • Liaison with HQ T&D teams to ensure alignment of central processes and initiatives with the UK
  • Management of the training budget
  • Working closely with the business to ensure effective management and co-ordination of UK training plan and calendar, to include School of Management, Professional Academies, mandatory, technical, and locally arranged offerings
  • Delivery of training material
  • Facilitation and coaching of others when required
  • Ensuring training records are maintained and data collated, with regular analysis to assist with production and reporting of KPI’s
  • Through liaison with HQ and local HRBP’s, manage the local Talent Review and succession planning process
  • Development of relationships with external training providers
  • Management of the annual ’Performance Management Tool’ to include user support, training and system management
  • Providing support on employer branding initiatives when required
  • Involvement in all audits, supporting with the development of any required improvement programmes
  • Effective management of the company Apprenticeship schemes, in conjunction with operational managers and HRBP’s
  • Provide support and guidance on the roll-out of individual development plans
  • Works closely with Industrial Engineering and the Continuous Improvement department to manage training and development standards within the manufacturing environment
  • Building and managing the company skills matrix, to develop standard career paths

To be considered for this role, you’ll need:

Education

  • Bachelor/Master Degree or equivalent in Business, Human Resources
  • Trainer qualification

Experience

  • Training and Development experience in a similar role at a senior level
  • Budget management
  • Experience of working within a manufacturing environment
  • Training material production and delivery
  • Knowledge and awareness of lean methodologies is advantageous

Skills

  • Proactive in approach, keen to embrace and drive change
  • A high proficiency in Microsoft Office packages
  • Fully flexible, able to work under pressure and travel both inside and outside of the UK
  • Excellent communication skills, confident, positive and resilient in approach, able to deal with and influence people at all levels within the organisation
  • Strong analytical skills (understanding and interpreting information)
  • Able to demonstrate strong facilitation and coaching skills
  • A proven team player, dynamic and enthusiastic in outlook
  • Italian language skills would be advantageous

Due to the travel requirements of the role, a driving licence is essential
