Site Engineer
Location Newcastle
We are currently recruiting for a talented, motivated and ambitious site engineer based in Newcastle.
As a site engineer, you will be responsible for day to day surveying and setting out duties. You will ensure quality control requirements are met and recorded in accordance with specification. You will also operate and promote a high standard of health and safety and environment compliance.
As an experienced site engineer, you will have relevant industry qualification (HND/HNC/BEng), a relevant CSCS card and ideally first aid certification. You will also have experience of working on a construction site and will be able to evidence experience of setting out and levelling. You will have experience working on projects valuing between GBP5 and GBP20 million.
Responsibilities:
As a Site Engineer, you will be responsible for day to day surveying and setting out duties. You will ensure quality control requirements are met and recorded in accordance with specifications.
You will be competent in the use of instruments such as EDM's, Total Stations, Laser Levels, and Dumpy levels. Other duties include;
- Setting out and checking works as required for the project
- Co-ordinating Sub-Contractors including maintaining a daily Site Diary detailing manpower levels for each Sub-contractors and keeping accurate notes of all on-site activities
- Scheduling daily Work Programmes
- Scheduling steel reinforcement and other material requisitions
- Making of concrete cubes including recording locations, sending for testing and analysing results as well as other quality checks as required
- Taking site and foundation levels
Requirements:
- Engineering Degree/Diploma Required
- Preferably 2+ years Engineering experience
- Computer literate in Design Software
- Excellent interpersonal skills, strong written and oral communication skills
