Engine Test Technician

I am currently recruiting for an experienced Engine Test Technician to join a world renowned automotive manufacturer. They work with tier one clients such as Audi and JCB and are at the forefront of design and production. Due to continued success, they are currently looking for an Engine Test Technician to join their Northampton site.

Some of the responsibilities may include but are not limited to:

- Installing engine to test dynamometer.
- Reporting test facility faults to the Supervisor
- Carrying out testing and fitting work as requested on Rig & Test Request sheets
- Carrying out basic test facility maintenance and cleaning
- Ensuring mandatory safety requirements are being adhered to by self and others visiting test facilities and rig rooms

Qualifications

- BTEC ONC In Mechanical Engineering or Automotive Engineering or equivalent, preferred

Skills and Experience

- Relevant engine testing experience including engine dynamometers, a sound understanding of base engine operation and a working knowledge of engine management systems
- Some experience of emissions measurement/analysis
- Very good fitting skills and able to produce basic fabricated components
- Able to adjust engine parameters using the Engine Management System
- Good understanding of test data and able to diagnose if engine is out of parameters
- Basic electrical fault finding
- Good computer skills

The successful candidate will have an aptitude for engineering and a clear passion for the automotive industry. They will have previous experience in a similar role and display a positive and attentive attitude towards their work.

For this you will receive up to GBP14.50 per hour, plus overtime and shift allowance (GBP40k potential)
