A leading FMCG manufacturer is now seeking a Materials Controller / Materials Planner to join their operations team. Reporting to the Materials Manager, the successful Materials Controller / Materials Planner will be responsible for ensuring materials are available to meet demand through effective ordering and inventory control processes. Liaising with a variety of internal and external parties, including suppliers and customers, to ensure high levels of service are maintained both efficiently and cost effectively.
The successful Material Planner will have previous planning / materials management experience within an FMCG manufacturing environment. The Material Planner will require strong IT skills and have experience of using MRP systems with a minimum of intermediate excel skills.
Responsibilities of the Materials Controller / Materials Planner include:
To manage material and packaging inventory levels, both on site and externally
Minimise disposal costs within agreed KPI targets and without negatively affecting service levels.
Manage materials and packaging for launches, de-lists and trials, reporting ``at risk`` stock to key business stakeholders.
Resolve daily materials and packaging issues and communicate the outcome to relevant stakeholders
To maintain, monitor and report KPIs and complete all administration required within materials and packaging management.
Represent the department at operational meetings, provide feedback to the team and complete actions.
Continuously maintain and improve systems and procedures for materials control.
To control spending of out of programme purchases and extraordinary transport costs in line with KPI targets
Continuously build and develop long lasting customer and supplier relationships.
Provide weekly forecast updates to the supply base, highlighting key events and demand changes.
