This will be a hands-on role within a busy production environment where you will be required to perform a range of production activities whilst also supervising the work of others in your area.
Key responsibilities:
Management of team
- Personnel management and setting objectives
- Resource planning and training
- Dealing with performance management issues
- Motivating staff to work to deadlines
- Driving efficiency and improvements in working practices
Manufacturing operations management
- Manage work in accordance with the production plan, making full use of our production computer based planning/control system
- Monitor staff bookings and materials usage, redeploying staff from one area to another to meet the business need
- Liaise with sales team and occasionally with customers for work in production
- Reporting to your line manager on key issues
Person Specification
- Previous experience of working within a production environment for a SME manufacturing company
- Strong people management skills with an ability to deal with people of all levels
- Reliable and discreet when dealing with confidential information
- Remains calm and level headed in pressurised situations
- A conscientious, tenacious and self-reliant individual who is results orientated and enjoys seeing tasks through to completion
- Knowledge of Quality procedures ISO 9001
- Computer literate in MS office and numerate
