Trainer Assessor. Re-engagement. Part Time - 12 hours per week until 31/07/2016. Temporary

We are one of the largest Further Education Colleges in the UK with more than 21,400 learners studying with us on a wide range of courses. Our mission is to equip people with the skills they need to be successful in education, in work and business and in their personal lives.

As a result of our ongoing success in the area of training unemployed adults we are looking for an inspirational trainer to deliver both formal qualifications and informal training to unemployed adults on our short employability / vocational skills training programmes.

As part of this very rewarding position you will help to maximise learners' chances of getting and maintain employment.

We are seeking to appoint a highly motivated casual trainer to deliver a variety of employability skills / vocational subjects to unemployed adults (19+) including:

  • Team working Skills
  • Confidence for work
  • Job searching skills
  • Interview skills
  • Customer service
  • Retail Knowledge
  • IT Skills
  • Careers in construction
  • Administration

Candidates will not be expected to be able to deliver all the subjects listed above.

We are looking to recruit an inspirational trainer with recent current experience of delivering training to groups of unemployed adults.

This role will involve establishing and maintaining effective teaching, learning, and assessment activities to keep learners motivated.

You will be expected to develop training materials to meet individual learner needs and facilitate innovative sessions that motivate some of the most disadvantaged adults.

You will need to have a flexible approach to working and the ability to prioritise your workload to meet assessment deadlines and timely completion of paperwork.

Candidates need to have a Level 2 or GCSE equivalent in English and Maths, formal teaching or assessing qualifications and experience of working with groups of unemployed adults.

A qualification in providing information advice and guidance would be an advantage.

Candidates will be expected to attend ongoing training and development activities to maintain competence in assessment practice and the subject area.

This is a fixed term contract of 12 hours per week, until 31/07/17

There may be an opportunity for the successful candidate to work additional hours on a casual basis.
