James Gray Recruitment are actively seeking a freelance Site Agent on behalf of one of our key clients who are an established main contractor in the construction and civil engineering sectors
Our client
- Our client is a leading UK business operating primarily within construction and infrastructure schemes;
- With a responsible sustainability strategy, they invest significant time and effort to ensure safe working environments with minimal environmental impact;
- Due to on-going and future pending contracts, this is an excellent opportunity to work with one of the UK's largest contractors and get exposure to interesting and prestigious projects.
What you'll be doing
- The successful Site Agent will work on the Stirling-Dunblane-Alloa (SDA) rail link;
- Supervise and monitor the site labour force and sub-contractors;
- Ensure Health, Safety and Environmental requirements are adhered to;
- Check drawings and specifications;
- Deliver the project within budget, on-time and to high safety standards;
- Manage and guide the team of sub agent(s), engineer(s) and foremen;
- Compiling monthly progress reports and communication of monthly progress meetings;
- Control Temporary Works;
- Undertake any other duties as required to progress the project.
What you need to be successful
- At least 2 years' experience as a Site Agent, preferably within a main contracting civil engineering environment;
- At least 10 years' experience on site-based engineering projects;
- Experience on rail projects is essential;
- Ideally situated near or within commutable distance to Stirling;
- Ideally the candidate will be able to demonstrate progression from a Site Engineering role, to Sub Agent, to Site Agent;
- Valid and up-to-date CSCS and PTS (Personal Track Safety/Sentinel) certifications;
- Outstanding leadership skills, including communication and self-management skills;
- Excellent team work and team player qualities
- Strong customer focus with commercial awareness.
