Mechanical Design Engineer
Monday to Thursday 7am to 4pm, Friday 7am to 2.15pm
GBP30,000- GBP37,000 + 22 Days Holiday + Bank Holidays

Senior design position available for an experienced architectural/structural designer looking to work for a well established company producing bespoke metalwork items for their blue chip clients.
This role would suit senior draughtsmen with experience of working with steel and other metals from any architectural/structural design industries. The successful candidate should have experience working with 3D Tekla (xSteel) and 2D AutoCAD packages. Experience managing small teams is desired but not essential.
The successful candidate will manage a small in house design team as well as a small team of subcontractors based out of office. They will also be involved with mentoring a junior designer. You will be in charge of designing bespoke metalwork items from concept and remodifying existing specifications. Site surveys will be required on a semi-regular basis. You will also be required to liaise with other departments to ensure efficiency between the design department and the fabrication workshop.
The company are family run designer and manufacturer of structural and architectural steel fabrication who work with big name blue chips and construction clients throughout the UK. They provide each of their clients with a cradle to grave bespoke service.
The Role:
* Designing bespoke metalwork items.
* Managing a small team of in house and contract designers.
* Mentoring a junior designer.
* Carrying out site surveys and liaising with clients.
* Liaising with the fabrication workshop to ensure efficiency.
The Person:
* Experience of working with architectural/structural steel fabrications.
