Quantity Surveyor
South Wales
Full Time
GBP30 - 35K Per Year
Our clients are looking to recruit a Quantity Surveyor to join their successful and fast growing House building Company. The successful candidate will be based at their Head Office in Newport but will be required to travel across various site in South Wales.
Job Responsibilities:
- Experience of working as a Quantity Surveyor
- Review of specifications and requirements
- Sourcing and management of supply chain and consultants
- Provision and presentation of bids in order to obtain approval to proceed
- Legal and contract review, including supply chain
- Identification of and pricing of risk
- Completing PQQ documentation
- Provide Commercial support to existing contracts
- Manage and monitor the contractual responsibilities (including compliance and dispute resolution) of customers, supply chain partners, suppliers and contractors.
- To ensure Change Variation Orders are fully documented, agreed and processed in a timely manner
- To verify contractual documentation with clients to ensure payments are submitted on time
- To ensure financial close-out of projects within contract timeframe
- Provide Financial reports on progress and liabilities, including reports on outturn and profit
- Ensure that projects are completed in a timely and satisfactory manner
Skills/Experience
- Proven track record for successfully delivering projects / jobs
- Pre-construction and involvement in bids
- Experience in cost reporting, including cost reporting and Final Accounts
- Good understanding of various suits of contracts - JCT, NEC and other forms of construction contracts in the building industry
- A good understanding of the principles of Risk Management
- Good IT skills - to include Microsoft Office, Excel in particular.
- Driving license required.
- Proactive - anticipates problems and shows initiative for problem-solving and generating new ideas
- Confident, outgoing and presentable
