Marine Vessel Engineers are required throughout the UK to carry out planned and reactive maintenance on fishing vessels ranging in size from 16 to 38 metres. The Marine Vessel Engineers must be time served, highly experienced mechanical engineers very used to working with diesel engines. The Marine Vessel Engineer must be willing to work at sea. The Marine Vessel Engineer can be based anywhere in the UK as travel costs to a variety of ports will be funded by the employer. Vessels dock in the South of England, the Scottish West Coast and the Scottish North East Coast.

Responsibilities:
Carry out preventative maintenance
Liaise with the crew to plan work time frames
Complete accurately inspection records and record repairs carried out
Conduct checks for safety and mechanical malfunctions
Maintain effectively the vessel and associated equipment
Highlight potential issues that may compromise the seaworthiness of the vessel
Follow company safety policies and safe work procedures at all times
Knowledge, skills and qualifications required:
Essential:
IT literate
Recognised and valid certification for marine engineers e.g. Fishing Vessel Class 1 / Class 2, STCW95;
Fishing industry New Entrants Health and Safety, Basic Sea Survival, Basic First Aid and Fire Fighting & Prevention certification, or willingness to obtain same;
Desirable:
Knowledge of fishing vessels
