Great Britain's gambling industry is in a constant state of change, fuelled by shifting consumer behaviour and the rapid growth of technology. It's high profile politically too, and the legislation controlling gambling is constantly under scrutiny. Within this uniquely challenging and evolving environment, The Gambling Commission's role is to ensure that gambling is crime free, fair and open - and that children and vulnerable people are protected. Now they need you to play a key role in their future, driving the change needed to ensure that the Gambling Commission can meet the growing complexity of the market and their developing regulatory remit.

The Gambling Commission are now seeking a Risk Analysis Manager to join their team in Birmingham for a temporary, nine month contract.

This is an exceptional opportunity for a qualified risk analysis professional to take on a new challenge to enhance the systems and process of a renowned regulatory body.

As the Risk Analysis Manager, you will join the Gambling Commission's Evidence, Analysis and Knowledge Management programme and will be tasked with managing the risk analysis workstream.

In this complex and challenging contract, you will design and deliver the strategy, supporting methodology and toolkit for the analysis of industry risk and take the lead in the ongoing identification and assessment of strategic risk.

You will play a key role in building and sustaining risk management to support evidence-led and risk based decision making and the Commission's general approach. Driving change across the organisation, you will re-introduce risk analysis as a revitalised concept and seek to embed adoption in all areas.

Reporting to, and guided by the Programme Director, you will act as the internal expert for risk analysis and will be a visible figure across the organisation. You will use your confidence and presence to boost decision making capabilities and will provide specialist advice to colleagues up to Executive Director level.

Additionally, you will oversee a team of three staff, managing their activities, acting as a role model for the Commission's values and behaviours and actively contributing to the wider management of the programme.

To be considered for this role, you must have:

Previous experience in an organisational-level risk management role
Proven experience of managing successful projects that have delivered organisational-level benefits
Educated to degree level (or equivalent)
A risk management qualification, such as a Management of Risk (Practitioner) certificate

As the Risk Analysis Manager, you will also need to be an influential leader with strong negotiation skills and the ability to build and maintain working relationships and work with considerable independence and initiative.

A project management qualification, such as a PRINCE2 Practitioner or APMP qualification, would be beneficial to your application. Experience gained in a regulatory environment or in or with the gambling industry would also be advantageous.

Please note, the closing date for applications is 22nd January 2017.
