Test Engineer/Optoelectronics

Test Engineer/Optoelectronics required to carry out testing, troubleshooting and fault finding on leading optoelectronic devices used in engineering, telecoms and oil and gas industries. This Test Engineer role would suit a test engineer with experience of testing optoelectronic assemblies, checking data outputs and maintaining and developing test procedures. You should a have a degree in Physics, Optoelectronics, Applied Optics or similar. Candidates with an MSc or PhD Physics, Optoelectronics or Applied Optics would also be of interest, if their studies have included testing, data analysis, or experience and understanding of optical simulation tools. However this is a test engineer role and candidates with testing experience of optoelectronic devices are preferred. You will join a production and testing team of 6 members working on next generation optical fibre sensor technologies and products. The devices have applications in the oil and gas, telecoms and engineering industries. Ideally you will have some experience in the testing of optoelectronic devices and products and be able to work with colleagues to test and fault find in optoelectronic devices and assemblies. You must have very strong communication skills and be able to devise new testing processes and methods. This is a great opportunity for a candidate with a Physics, Optoelectronics, Applied Optics or similar background to build a career as Test Engineer to enhance and improve products as well as to fault find and trouble shoot devices returned by clients for investigation. You should have a good understanding of the testing life cycle and processes. This role is based in Elstree, easily commutable from Watford, Harrow, Stanmore and North London. Candidates who require relocation will be considered if they have relevant optoelectronic test engineer experience.
