An excellent opportunity for a bright Engineer (ideally excellent qualifications in Physics) to join an expanding high technology design and engineering company who are based in Cambridge and are having a serious impact on the smart materials technology industry. The ideal trainee Business Development Manager will have 12 months+ Physics and software development experience, ideally working for a high-tech engineering or science company or Consultancy and have a Physics or Scientific/
Engineering qualifications and background. You will need to have a good degree in Engineering or Science, and be a strong communicator.
Your main responsibilities will include (but are not limited to) working alongside a Senior Business Development Manager:
Identifying new business opportunities
Establishing and developing relationships with new business partners
Producing business plans and strategies to develop new opportunities and deliver results
Managing and taking ownership of the implementation of the new in order to develop new business
Experience and skills in some of the following:
Educated to degree level in Engineering or Science
A minimum of 12 months research and development experience from within a leading edge engineering or scientific company
Experience in the production of business plans, and business development strategies
High level of interpersonal skills in order to build long standing relationships
Be able to independently problem solve, and make decisions
Good written and verbal communication skills along with excellent presentation skills
This role would be perfect for a PhD qualified Physicist or Software Engineer with a Physics background who is looking to join a talented and very bright team in a more commercially focused role, working for a company at the very forefront of their industry.
