Permanent, 40 hrs/week 8:30 - 5 (Mon to Fri)

We are looking for an ambitious and resilient Operations Administrator to join our clients Depot in Wescott.
Our Client is the largest independent distributor of fuels and lubricants in the UK. Employing in excess of 2500 people, they have locations spread across the mainland, the Scottish Islands, Isle of Man, Channel Islands and the Isle of Wight.
You will play a central role within the organisation supporting the Operations Manager in delivering change and dealing with Driver queries and concerns.
Responsibilities
- Assist the Operations Manager to challenge and ultimately drive down operational costs by ensuring best practices are adopted and followed
- Be the focal point for daily communications with drivers to ensure that maximum efficiency is achieved for all deliveries
- Be a pro-active member of the distribution team, contributing to the development and improvement of the business
- To be aware of the geographical area covered by the depot
- Effectively communicate with all departments regarding operational challenges
- Pro-actively interact and negotiate with Freight Forwarders / Logistics Planner to maintain a robust & cost effective export service offer
- Planning driver holidays, in conjunction with business needs (a co-operative process with the Routing Department)
- Local scheduling of servicing and maintenance in liaison with the Transport Department
- Forward plan truck and driver availability for routing team
- Ensuring Daily delivery confirmations are completed in line with company & key stakeholder requirements
- Monitor routing efficiency & follow up on inconsistencies identified through the routing system
Essential Criteria:
- Good organisation skills and ability to prioritise
- Good listening skills
- Excellent communicator
- High degree of self-motivation
- Resilient, persistent and tenacious
- Ability to manage change effectively is essential
- Knowledge of EU driving hours / WTD is preferable but not mandatory
