I am working with a renowned Manufacturing business based in Preston who have an excellent opportunity within their Senior Management team! Due to continued growth within the business, they have an exciting position for a Planning Manager. The role would be suited to someone in a senior planning role looking to make their first step into Supply Chain Management OR an established manager looking to join a thriving business.

THE ROLE

Reporting to the Operations Director, you will be encouraged to take direct involvement with the site leadership team, being an influential part in creating and delivering a world class supply chain solution to support the achievement of the businesses strategic vision. You will manage the end to end process to ensure products are available to meet customer demand.

- Development of existing supply chain processes and procedures

- Balance customer demand with supply using MRP logic

- Stock build management for seasonal business

- Resolving booking and system process flow issues

- Capacity Management of demand through Sales and Operations Planning

- Review and authorize production schedules for shop floor use

- Responsible for inbound and outbound logistics operations, such as transportation, warehouse, safety and logistics quality management

THE CANDIDATE

The ideal Planning Manager will have worked in a manufacturing environment, where they have had involvement in planning, forecasting and warehousing. Key attributes will be as follows;

- Experience of Planning Management in a Manufacturing environment, ideally aerospace or automotive

- Self-starter with high energy levels, personal drive and commitment

- Someone with demonstrable of evidence direct customer interaction

- Excellent computer skills with experience in Excel, Access, PowerPoint and Word.

- Previous experience & understanding of planning systems

- Excellent communication skills with the ability to simplify

- Ideally MCIPS/CIPS qualified
