Quality Engineer Bristol * ??25,000 - ??40,000 * Permanent About Our Client My client is a market leader within the Manufacturing industry providing unique products into the Aerospace, Automotive, Medical, FMCG, Marine, Defence and Pharmaceutical sectors. Quality Engineer Responsibilities The successful candidate for the Quality Engineer role based at my clients Bristol site will fulfil the following responsibilities - Translating and implementing external requirements i.e. international QMS standards, regulatory, customer and technical requirements etc.Creating and maintaining quality, production and business documentation as required.Administration of Quality databases / document control systems.Performing process and compliance audits / assessments against procedures and international standards and requirements (internal and external).Ensuring day to day product and process quality requirements are understood and achieved.Ensuring inspection, test, and calibration requirements are met.Overseeing day to day activities of Quality Technicians and Inspectors to ensure production and quality requirements are achieved in a timely and appropriate fashion.Takes responsibility for collecting, analysing and improving Quality and other business KPI's / Process Effectiveness measures where required.Leading and Facilitating Problem Solving and Variation Reduction teams utilising techniques such as 8D and Six Sigma.Developing and utilising Product / Process Quality Planning techniques i.e. APQP, PPAP, SPC, MSA etc. to proactively establish process capability and product maturity.Coaching, mentoring and training of others to develop Quality skills and mind-sets. The Quality Engineer Profile The successful candidate for my clients Quality Engineer role will provide evidence of the following - Degree in an engineering discipline with 3 years quality experience or equivalent on the job experience.Demonstrable experience in core quality tools and techniques (Demonstrates clear understanding of FMEA, Structured Problem Solving, Control plan, MSA, PPAP and SPC methodologies). Lead auditor to ISO9001 (preferable to ISO/TS 16949)Ability to interpret engineering drawings and specificationsStrong understanding of quality statistical models and metrics.Proven knowledge in a relevant industry.Understanding of machining, fitting and general engineering essential.Must be able to analyse and interpret complex data.Ability to present information on research progress and outcomes.Good communication skills are essential; both verbal and written.
