Senior Production Supervisor Competitive Salary and Excellent Benefits Bridgwater Our client requires an experienced Production Supervisor to work with the Production Control department in this precision manufacturing organisation. We're looking for a time served skilled Machinist with a solid record of supervisory/managerial experience in a machining environment, ideally working with a range of materials. If successful in your application you will be the lead team member, collaborating with planning and engineering to execute the daily/weekly production plans through direct leadership and control of the production team i.e. shift supervisors, team leaders, shop floor staff and production machines. Scope & Relationships: Reporting to the Production you will take up full responsibility for the day to day running of the production department on a general basis, making minor decisions and dealing with personnel on behalf of the Production Manager. You will be responsible for the work output and development of Production personnel through day to day management of the production staff. You will work closely with the Production Manager to record and report on progress of production orders, machine utilization and production capacity whilst ensuring all set KPI's are achieved. Additionally you will work closely with other departmental supervisors to ensure that jobs are produced and dispatched within the given timeframes quality standards. Main Responsibilities & Accountabilities: To demonstrate leadership qualities at all times. To be the first point of contact for any queries relating to production. Maintain discipline of production personnel, reporting to the production manager on conduct of personnel and matters requiring disciplinary action. To help promote with the Production Manager a culture of adherence to policies and procedures laid down in the company staff handbook. Keep an effective and up to date production control system, to provide up to the minute and accurate order completion time/dates in full liaison with Production Control. Help when required to assist the Process Controller to allocate appropriate machinery and personnel, and issue them with production orders to achieve set times and dates. Ensure production personnel produce work in accordance with the quality system. Ensure material to be used for production is ready in good time for when machine operations are to begin, through effective communication with stores. Encourage and motivate members of staff to build and maintain an effective team. Adopt an effective leadership style to supervise and develop all employees' in line with the company and departmental objectives. To comply with all reasonable requests made by the Production Manager. Ensure all aspects of safety standards are kept at all times within the production department to comply with health and safety procedures and regulations that are laid down in the Group Health and Safety policy. Experience Required Time Served Skilled Machinist Supervisory/Management experience in a machining environment Experience of machining engineering plastics and composite materials.
