CAD Designer

We are a family run aluminium display company with over 30 years experience in the sign and printing industry.

We pride ourselves in the quality of our products, our attention to detail and our dedication to our customers. We have built the business over the last thirteen years from a one-man start-up to an international company with offices, warehouses and distributors all over the world.

We enjoy working with our customers on new projects. We do not think of ourselves as a supplier, but a partner.

Due to expansion, we now require a CAD Designer to join the organisation and help grow the business in the UK. 

• Designing products using our modular aluminium framing systems for signs, retail displays and lightboxes.
• Converting and cataloguing existing information into a new Solidworks library.
• Creating customer presentations and production shop drawings.
• Creating technical support material and brochures.
• Research and development - Value engineering and improving the existing profiles, connections and systems. Adding to the product range. Developing new product lines.
• Working in conjunction with our suppliers in aluminium and plastic extrusion, plastic injection moulding, and steel fabrication.
• File all work in folders meeting the company standards.
• Meeting and discussing with the sales/production team and occasionally our clients to establish their requirements for projects.
• Designing products that provide the best solution to meet each client’s brief.
• On job confirmation you may be required to order parts from suppliers meeting Spirit Displays standards.
• Support the sales team with selling Spirit Displays systems to the industry.

CAD Designer - Key Skills and Behaviours:

• You will need to be computer competent with the ability to type coherent and concise information and have experience with MS Office and Outlook. Experience using Solidworks and Adobe Design Suite with design skills.
• We’re looking for someone with the ability to pick up these skills and improve in their ability to deliver.
• You need to be a confident person. You will be required to learn the core products quickly so to be able to take full and accurate briefs, whilst fully understanding the clients requirements.
• Attention to detail is vital. You will be dealing with in-depth briefs and need to know when something is missing, to be in a position to ask the right questions.
• You will need to be a good and honest communicator, within the team and also with the clients.
• We are looking for a proven record of delivering to deadlines. Even though you will have support of the team you will be required to take full ownership of tasks and ensure the job reaches its completion.
• It’s important that you maintain high standards at all times. We are a source of advice to the sales team and clients as well as helping to solve problems on a daily basis.
• Excellent organisational skills and ability to prioritise.

Salary £22,000 – 25,000 per Annum
Experience: Graduate – 2-3 years working
