Join our team! Become a Senior Support Worker with United Response. We are looking to employ two Senior Support Workers for our Bognor Regis Service.

Who we are

United Response is a leading national charity providing support to young people and adults with learning disabilities and mental health needs. We believe in championing the right of disabled people to live, work, socialise and participate in the community, free of discrimination and unnecessary boundaries. 

The Service

Our Bognor Service comprises of 2 registered care homes. Each home supports a small number of adults with learning difficulties, Autism and/or Down's Syndrome to lead independent lives and access their community.

Who we are looking for

We have an opportunity for a Senior Support Worker to join us and support individuals to live the lives they choose.  Because we are all different, your role as a Senior Support Worker will be varied - what you do and how you do it will depend on the needs of the individuals you are supporting.  You will have the opportunity to get involved in the leadership of the service, helping to organise rotas, maintain records and supervise colleagues.

To be a great Senior Support Worker, you will need to have some previous experience in social care.  You will know that you need compassion, integrity and to treat people with dignity and respect.  You need to be reliable because people are depending on you, be able to travel between locations and work flexibly, including evenings, weekends and overnight as needed.  You also need to be a great communicator, both verbally and in writing and have basic IT and numerical skills.

Experience of working with adults with Learning Disabilities and/or Autism is essential. Experience of leading and managing a team and preparing staff rota's preparing support plans and risk assessments is advantageous.  Excellent people and organisational skills are essential.
